Our first week back to school was very successful despite the hot weather. Our teachers welcomed students with open arms and started to build strong classroom communities on the very first day of school! Teachers spent time getting to know their students and allowing their students to get to know them. Also, many teachers are making time getting to know parents, and I hope parents take some time to get to know us a little bit better. Teachers are spending time working on establishing classroom expectations and routines to create safe and joyful classrooms. Our teachers and students have embraced the work and are putting their heart and soul into this work. As a result, Fox Hill School is humming and students are leaving school tired but happy.
This year we welcome Beacon Village families to Fox Hill School. I have met all the children and have established a great first connection with them. They are simply delightful, and I am so impressed with their courage and confidence to come to a new school. I feel they are making new friends very quickly. I hope we are meeting parent expectations and if not, please feel free to send me an email. Transportation is improving coming to and going home from Fox Hill School and I am very grateful and impressed with Mr. Robinson’s and A&F Bus Company’s ability to respond to parent needs so quickly. Beginning on Tuesday, September 8th the bus stop will be moved to the POND instead of the Beacon Village entrance. The bus will pick up students at 8:07 am at the Pond and take them to Fox Hill School. At the end of the day, students will be dropped off at the POND too! This weekend is Labor Day and we will not have school on Friday, September 4th and Monday, September 7th. Our first day of kindergarten is Tuesday, September 8th! Enjoy the last bit of summer and see everyone back at school ready to learn on Tuesday!
