Thank you to all parents who attended Back to School Night!  We had a great turnout Wednesday night and the energy was upbeat and lively throughout the building.  Thank you to our teachers who worked very hard preparing informative presentations for parents.  Our school looks bright, cheery and we are ready for lots of learning to occur in the months ahead.  Special thanks to our PTO who also shared information about the wonderful things the PTO provides our children.  In our main lobby there is a TV monitor for Fox Hill to visually share all the great things that occurs at Fox Hill School on a daily basis.  On Back to School Night we shared the following presentation.  When you visit Fox Hill School, take some time to view new Fox Hill happenings via our TV monitor!

On Monday, September 26, 2017 at 6:30pm our PTO is hosting a general PTO meeting and the featured presentation is the Town of Burlington and Burlington Public Schools’ Emergency Protocol.  Several police officers from the Burlington Police Department will present this information to Fox Hill parents.  I encourage all parents to attend and I hope to see you Monday night.

Finally, Fox Hill School is fortunate to have the support of many Burlington community members.  One such example is Rudy Poirier, a junior at Burlington High School!  Rudy is working towards earning Eagle Scout status.  Rudy heard about Fox Hill’s School Garden and contacted me to see about building a fence for our garden.   Rudy organized and planned this project from start to finish and the fence came out beautifully.  Rudy provided just what was needed for our garden.  I was so impressed with how this young man achieved such a complicated project with integrity and professionalism.  Thank you Rudy for a job well done!  Thank you to all Fox Hill parents as they contributed to the success of the garden fence too!  Money earned from Box Tops funded the natural cedar wood for our fence.  Our garden thrived this summer despite the summer drought and our students were able to enjoy fresh tomatoes, zucchini and cucumbers in their school lunch picked from our garden.  Special thanks to our parents, the Fraczek family, the Sargood family, the Rigolini family, the Negron family, the Magnarelli family and the Matta family who watered and cared for the garden this summer and to Mrs. Thorpe who continues to organize and care for the garden with the help of Fox Hill students!  I am thrilled we can provide this type of authentic learning experience to all Fox Hill students.
