Fox Hill Happenings ~ 1-20-17

principalsdeskOver the past 6 weeks Fox Hill School has focused on the condition, Heroes.  Heroes is one of the 8 Conditions that Make a Difference developed by Dr. Russ Quaglia.  Students learned there are many different qualities that make up a hero, and that a hero can be a firefighter, a policeman, a military officer, a parent, a teacher, a friend, or a grandparent.  Students learned and understand that a hero is someone who believes in you, someone who sees your potential, someone who roots for you to be successful!  Every day our students are in contact with heroes, with role models, with someone who believes in them, this is what makes our Fox Hill community special and successful.

Today we had our Hero Assembly for students in grades K-2 and for students in grades 3-5.  Our students and their teachers are my heroes as I watched classrooms share their vulnerability, their enthusiasm, and their creativity.   We invited some of our local community heroes to Fox Hill School to introduce them to our students and to celebrate their humble efforts.  Though there are many, many Fox Hill Heroes, we took great pleasure in recognizing Mrs. Judy Walsh for her work with People Helping People, Ms. Christine Shruen for her work at Burlington Youth and Family Services, Mrs. Charlotte DeRosa for her unconditional support and enthusiasm for Fox Hill School, for Robyn Magnarelli for her constant belief, support and participation at Fox Hill School, for Chief of Police Mike Kent, Deputy Chief Thomas Duffy, Captain Greg Skehan and Lt. Robert Kirchner of the Burlington Police Department, and for Captain Andrew Connerty, Lt. Peter McAnespie, Lt. Jim Sorenson, firefighters Gerry Hanafin, Kurt Duprez, Nick Menkello, Brendan Micciche, Paul Kadilak, Craig Callahan, Eric Fitzgerald and Tyler Falconer of the Burlington Fire Department for keeping our community safe.

Here is a bit of our assembly for parents to enjoy and for Fox Hill School to celebrate!  I am so very proud of our school!
