Tuesday is the last day of school for me and for students marking the completion of a successful 2017-2018 school year. I leave celebrating 10 years as Fox Hill principal with a total of 30 years in education! On Friday, I was treated to a special assembly put on by all students and their teachers in grades K-5. During that assembly, I sat back and experienced a feeling of great pride in our students through their display of leadership, joy, confidence, responsibility and kindness. This pride is a result of Fox Hill School being strong, hard-working, student-centered and always working to place children first. Special thanks to the parent community for their support, their warm wishes, and their displays of kindness throughout my 10 years as principal, I leave Fox Hill School with many friends, there is no doubt in my mind, you are the best parents with the best kids! I have loved your children as my own and I look forward to hear about their many, many successes in years to come.
As of July 1, 2018 David Rosenblatt is the new Fox Hill School principal! His email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. David and I have spent several days talking about and discussing all the wonderful things that make Fox Hill School, Fox Hill School. Mr. Rosenblatt is ready and excited to lead Fox Hill School and I am confident he will be highly successful in his new role. Fox Hill School is very fortunate to have Mr. Rosenblatt as their new principal!
Before it is officially time for me to say farewell, there are several staff changes in place for the 2018-2019 school year. We welcome 95 kindergarten students to Fox Hill requiring an increase in kindergarten to 5 kindergarten classes. Miss Christie will join Ms. Miele, Mrs. Bennett, Ms. Keefe and Mrs. Levesque. We also welcome two new kindergarten assistants, Ms. Margaret Ames assigned to Mrs. Levesque and Ms. Emily Miliano assigned to Mrs. Bennett. Mrs. Miri plans to return to the classroom closer to home, we wish Mrs. Miri well and we will miss her very much! Two new teachers join grade 3, Ms. Roper and Mr. Raymond. Mrs. Snyder is taking a full year maternity leave and Mrs. Webb retired from 35 years of working in education. Miss O’Donnell joins the fifth grade teaching team and Ms. Brianna Fraser joins the special education team. Ms. Flynn, interim school psychologist is returning to California and Mrs. Settelen has resigned from her role as school psychologist to stay home with her young family. As we close a chapter, all of us leave with a happy and grateful heart, eagerly waiting for someone new to pick up the pen and write the new chapter that continues excellence in education at Fox Hill School! Thank you for everything!
